Live at NOLA 'Resonatadog'

Nick's been playing and writing songs since.. Well way back. He got a serious Blues bug some 30 odd years ago and naturally fell in with hard hitting acoustic Delta country blues.

Saddling himself with a mission to ‘take it to the people' by way of the streets of London. Having played the style for so long he can seamlessly incorporate along with original songs classic rock numbers, Honky Tonk, Country and Western or an improvised on the spot groove without missing a beat. He plies his trade using a National Resophonic guitar, dirty harmonica and an imposing gritty soulful voice.

Come join us tonight for a few sips of whiskey, a homemade gumbo, and some excellent live music!

London Cocktail Week 2018

To celebrate London Cocktail Week, NOLA is very excited to announce that two of our great friends, New Orleans legends, Nick Detrich and Chris Hannah, are coming down to London and will be behind the stick at NOLA, shaking extra boozy cocktails and running industry seminars 2-5th of October.

2-7th of October, London Cocktail Week wristband holders can also enjoy a £6 special serve, 'Jump Sturdy', created by Nick Detrich in honour of the Doctor John classic song. The cocktail sees our bartenders mixing L.N. Mattei's Cap Corse Quinouina Rouge in equal portions with Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac, creme de cacao finished with a rinse of Absinthe and citrus twist.

Some of the events we are hosting this week:

Tuesday, 2 October 8PM-late

Nick and Chris are flying over on the Monday night redeye and are set to land at Heathrow only moments before jumping behind the stick, telling stories and shaking drinks. Even from the very best we expect a bit of jet lag so we've decided to open a few hours later than normal to help the boys acclimatise to their new time zone. Expect a couple of world-traveling raconteurs mixing tasty drinks alongside our team of crack bartenders.

Thursday, 4 October 8PM-late

Nick and Chris are taking over the bar with a selection of cocktails from their upcoming Jewel of South menu. A world's-first sneak-preview of what to expect when the bar that invented the Brandy Crusta reopens back in New Orleans at the end of October.

*Industry only*
Friday, 5th October 2:30-4:30PM

Nick, Chris and NOLA's founder James Triffo are going to have a semi-formal, semi-organised sit-down to chat current and classic New Orleans food and drinks. Their new bar Jewel of the South and what draws them to
London Cocktail Week. To book your seat, please email

Live at NOLA ‘Mississippi McDonald’

Screen Shot 2018-05-09 at 16.37.27.png

“Mississippi McDonald is, despite the moniker, an English blues man, and a guy with his feet, soul and spirit firmly rooted in the US Southern blues music tradition.” -BluesMagazine.NL

Playing since he was 11 years old and travelling extensively on the US blues trail, meeting blues legends such as BB King, Pinetop Perkins, Willy ‘Big Eyes’ Smith and Lucky Peterson. Mississippi’s style of the blues is fantastic blend of raw soul and unapologetic lyrics and its lots of fun to listen to. By the end of his sets you feel like you’ve been transported to Lousisian Juke-Joint on a sweltering Saturday night. If you’re like us and you love live blues, he’s not to be missed.

So join us this Wednesday to enjoy a fantastic musician that fits the bill and is sure to set your toe-a-tapping. Bookings always highly recommend, walk-ins welcome.
